Becoming a morning person isn’t an easy feat when you’re so used to sleeping in and rolling out of bed. Recently I’ve had to start rising before the sun and while it’s pretty great to watch the sunrise everyday, I’m used to sleeping in a bit more, so it has definitely been an adjustment.

I’ve come up with a few tips, tested by me, that can help anyone become a morning person and start their day on the right foot!

Set Multiple Alarms | Even if you were comfortable waking up at 8am with 1 alarm, that doesn’t mean you can wake up at 6am with only 1 (trust me.) I typically set 2 on my Fitbit because it literally jolts me awake, and 5 minutes later, I have one set on my phone. That way I know I will wake up both from my vibrating wristband and a loud obnoxious iPhone alarm.

Drink Something ASAP | I’m a coffee person so I always have a cup of coffee to jump start my day. Setting up the coffee pot before bed and having it auto-start, or just having to press ‘on’ when you first wake up makes it really quick for the morning. I also drink a glass of cold water because the cold temperature wakes me up. If you don’t like coffee, have a cup of tea, water, juice; anything to wake you up!

Prepare The Night Before | Sometimes I don’t want to get out of bed because I don’t know what to wear. Planning my outfit the night before and packing my bag makes it extremely easy to pop out of bed, get ready, and head out the door.

I know that being a morning person isn’t easy for everyone, but try out these tips and you could be surprised at how quickly you become a morning person!
